Dr. Merv Gilbert, R Psych

Dr. Merv Gilbert is a clinical psychologist who has over twenty years experience in direct clinical and leadership roles at regional, provincial, and international levels. He has consulted, published, and lectured extensively. He has skills in the development and implementation of best practice interventions, training, evaluation, and knowledge translation as well as participating in program development, research and teaching. He holds academic appointments at Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. He has published in national and international professional journals and has presented at a diverse array of forums on the importance of workplace mental health issues for individuals and organizations.

Dr. Gilbert is currently a principal partner with Gilbert Acton Ltd, a consulting group providing assessment, training and evaluation services that enables organizations to foster healthy employees and workplace climates. He is also a senior consultant with the Centre for Applied Research in Mental Health and Addiction (CARMHA), a research centre within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University (www.carmha.ca). Dr. Gilbert is a primary participant in the development, evaluation and dissemination of resources for workplace mental health (see www.carmha.ca/)  Dr. Gilbert also serves on a number of professional and non-profit organizations, including Co-Chair of the BC Psychologically Healthy Workplace Collaborative and serves on the BC and Global Business and Economic Roundtables on Mental Health and Addictions.
